Quote of the day: Stretching the imagination

“This is Humboldt Park. I wouldn’t call it Logan Square by any stretch of the imagination.”

North Clybourn Group agent Karen Biazar weighing in on The Silver District’s neighborhood identity. On Friday, I wrote that the development, which is located at 2800 W North Ave, was in Logan Square, despite the fact that “one could spit across the street from the roof deck into Humboldt Park,” as reader Freepy put it. So when I visited an open house at The Silver District yesterday, I asked Karen to set the record straight.

Karen has lived in Humboldt Park for the past 13 years, and she has been selling real estate in the greater West Town, Logan Square and Humboldt Park community areas for about 20 years. Humboldt Park often gets a bad rap, but she says that as people are priced out of Wicker Park, developers and buyers will continue to move west.

Karen took a few minutes to talk on camera about the new development and the neighborhood. I’ll post some footage from her open house in the coming days.
