While reading the Tribune article on the passing of Jerome Soltan, who the Tribune refers to as the “grandfather of the four-plus-one,” I was reminded of what a friend who managed a number of them once said.
“I’m afraid to replace the hall carpeting. I think it’s the major structural element of the building.”
