“[Buying a place] wasn’t as traumatic as everyone said it would be. Everyone is shocked at how easy it is to go from rental to condos. I’m pleasantly surprised.”

– Andy Moscrip, 57, quoted in Sunday’s Chicago Tribune. A longtime renter, Moscrip bought two condos at 2930 N Sheridan Rd, a development with one-bedrooms starting in the $240s.

  • Buying a condo is easy. Getting a good deal is the hard part. People bend over backwards to sell to you if you’re willing to pay full price, but treat you like a leper if you dare insult their asking (dreaming) price.

  • Poor simple Pete. No one is going to hand you anything in this life. You have to make the deal or opportunity happen.

    Keep sitting on the sidelines.

  • Aren’t you supposed to tell me to buy now or be priced out forever?

  • Pete,

Seems like you’re the one treating sellers like lepers when they reject your offering (dreaming) price.

Anyone remember the old saying that money talks and bs walks?

  • Ahh, spoken like true RE schills. Well done Zejas. Larry Yun is proud of you two. Don’t mind the funny tasting kool aid.

  • “Zejas”?! Finally, one of the doom and gloom types makes an amusing comment.

Z you are still likely wrong on your presumed opinion on the market, but at least you were creative. Now back to the regularly scheduled bad sarcasm please. Making an original comment must have tired you out.

  • What I don’t understand from the anonymous z and pete is why the animosity towards those who are personally successful owning and selling real estate. What in my comments suggests I’m promoting “the market”. Larry who?

Do what you want, but there are folks out there that need, want, have to, would like to and do buy and sell real estate successfully.

I have bought and sold my personal real estate in this gloom and doom market, and will again this year or early next. Why am I a “schill” for that?

Ask my clients … they’ve actually bought places I’ve suggested they pass on. How’s that for cheerleading?

You guys/gals are weak. I deal in reality.

Oh yeah, your referrals are my best compliment!

  • “Making an original comment must have tired you out.”

You’re in the on deck circle. Whenever you’re ready.
