Quote of the week – The whole world’s for sale

Mark Stern, a senior vice president at Waterton Associates, was only half joking when he told Crain’s Chicago Real Estate Daily that “the whole world’s for sale.” He was referring to the near frenzy of recent activity in the market for new Chicago high-rise rental buildings.

According to Crain’s the properties actively seeking buyers include Alta at K Station, Echelon at K Station, Flair Tower, Parc Huron, SoNo East, and EnV.

Some of Crain’s sources are said to believe that EnV may say for as much as $525,000 a unit – a price that may be nearly double its value as a condo building in the current market.

You can tour part of Alta’s lavish amenities package in the above video.
