RDM sticking with its Vision for Wicker Park

Vision construction site, 1624 W Division St, Chicago

A couple of little birdies have suggested in the past couple of weeks that RDM Development‘s Vision Condominiums (the project at 1624 W Division St, Alan, not Renaissant Development Group‘s Vision on State) were destined to become rental properties. They can tweet all they want, but everything I’ve heard from RDM up to this point suggests that the company is still gung-ho on selling some condos.

Bob Kohler of Coldwell Banker‘s Matt Garrison Group says that 11 of Vision’s 33 homes are under contract and that construction will wrap by this time next year. As I reported way back in March, its two- and three-bedroom residences range in size from 1,336 to 2,000 square feet and in price from the $440s to the $590s and will come in two different sets of finishes: the modern “Urbanite” and the traditional “Luxe.”

The last time Mark and I visited the border of Wicker Park and East Village, Vision was a big hole in the ground. As you can see from the picture I snapped this afternoon, it looks like work has reached the second of its four floors and is starting to clear the scaffolding and banners lining the northern side of West Division Street.

In case you’ve forgotten, Vision will look something like the rendering below when complete.
