Architect David Gwinn of the Silliman Group is overseeing the restoration of the old Del Prado hotel in Hyde Park and recently gave Joe Zekas a tour of the project for a series of sponsored videos about MAC Apartments‘ conversion of the building into an apartment building.
The first segment focused on the building’s exterior and location. The second segment, seen here, focuses on the Del Prado’s grand ballroom, lobby and other public spaces in the building.
A final part will look at the high-style apartments designed by Studio Gang Architects.

Uh, you guys are pointing to the wrong building in the video, it’s to the right of the Sherry (currently known as Hampton House).
Oh, oops, sorry, I mean the other right, left (as in west).
Sheridan B,
What part of which video is wrong?
00:16, big orange arrow. Points to the wrong building.
I’ve got it pointing as close to the Del Prado as I could get it.
What building do you think it points at?
See above, Hampton House.
I know it’s tricky because it’s at the edge of the frame and putting the arrow in isn’t that easy, plus changing it to the other direction isn’t quite as aesthetically pleasing.
