Rebuilding Together in Englewood

Yo Val and an Englewood homeowner

Early this morning more than 1,000 volunteers arrived at scores of homes in Englewood and suburban Markham for Rebuilding Together, a day of repairing homes owned by the elderly and the disabled.

YoChicago and Data Based Ads, its sister company, sponsored a home in West Englewood and our employees, led by Yo Val, painted, planted, installed a new kitchen floor, re-routed gutters and downspouts, repaired doors and more. We were joined by volunteers from two of our clients, American Marketing Services and New West Realty.

Painting and planting aren’t enough to accomplish the program’s goal of ensuring that homes are “warm, safe and dry.” That’s made possible by Chicago’s awesome skilled trades who volunteer by the hundreds each year for this effort – the men and women of Carpenters Local 13, Journeymen Plumbers Local 130 and Electrical Workers IBEW Local 134.
