Dennis Rodkin’s recent writeup on the sale of a a foreclosed River North townhouse got me wondering about the other townhomes and single-families found on and around Huron and Superior streets in River North.

One that caught my eye immediately was the only home of its kind in the neighborhood that’s listed for rent — a five-bedroom / 4.5-bath single-family with 7,000 square feet spread out over four floors, listed at $9,500 a month. It appears to have been listed almost immediately after closing at $1.62 million in a short sale last month. (It had been listed for as much as $1.89 million, according to Zillow.)

The home, located at 430 W Huron St, features hardwood floors, custom baths, an eat-in kitchen with stainless steel appliances and marble countertops, a central atrium on the main level, terraces on each level, an elevator, and an attached two-car garage.

Other single-families and townhomes in the immediate vicinity are available to purchase from around $1.15 to $2 million.
