An in-house tipster alerted me to several vacancies at River West Lofts, 925 W Huron St. A one-bedroom is renting for $1,375 and a two-bedroom for $1,975.
In the video architect / developer Jack Berger talks about the architecture of his Mondial project, but focuses for a bit on River West Lofts, which is directly across the street. Berger has built more than 500 units in River West – a name he conferred on the neighborhood – since moving to the area 20 years ago.
River West Lofts has unusually large windows for a loft building. That’s possible, Jack explains, because the building has a steel skeleton and timber loft construction on the inside. It’s on the National Register of Historic Places, in part because it may have been the first steel skeleton loft in Chicago.
The following video showcases the views from Mondial, which are almost identical to the views from River West Lofts.
