YoChicago’s Joe Zekas and neighborhood resident and Chicago Home Estates sales agent Eric Rojas talk about rental and for-sale housing prices in Ravenswood – and how buyers should set their housing priorities. Rojas also discusses local schools and says that he plans to send his son to a public school in the neighborhood.
Earlier segments on Ravenswood: part I, part II, part III, and part IV, part V.

And Eric, isn’t it also wonderful that the Lawrence/Hermitage Dunkin’ Donuts has finally added Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream to its menu! There goes the neighborhood (good) and the diet (not so good).
Good catch LR… you know your hood is going upscale when you have a brand new Dunks built!
Just wondering what the local realtors think of the white building on Lawrence on the west side of the Metra tracks finally going up for sale? It’s sat vacant there for years and would be the perfect spot for a coffee shop, cafe, bar… There asking $1,300,000 for it – is that realistic?
Sean,
Missed this comment. Get a hold of me through my email on my blog and I’ll look up the zoning and let you know what’s going on with the site. Good catch though, with other restauraunts doing well on Lawrence (Pizza D.O.C, and Chicago Ale House) this spot by the Metra stop should be attractive.
There are few commercial zoned sites in the area that will sell for under $1M if lager than a standard lot, so I don’t see $1.3M unreasonable.
But, I’d have to check the zoning.
