Reside at Belmont Harbor is a 13-story, 98-unit vintage apartment building at 426 W Belmont Ave in Chicago’s Lakeview East neighborhood.
The building was completed in 1927. It was designed by Robert S. DeGolyer & Co, a firm that’s been said to have had “a remarkable design vocabulary.”
The façade of the building illustrates this architecture critic’s take on DeGolyer: “His decorative choices were, well, eclectic to say the least. The man designed for his client, the site, and whatever historically correct architectural trend worked for the job at hand.”
The apartments
Reside at Belmont Harbor has a mix of studio and 1-bedroom apartments. Studios range in size from 300 to 400 square feet and one-bedrooms from 600 to 710 square feet. Floor plans and availability are accessible online.
The apartments have hardwood floors in living areas.
Updated apartments have new baths, and stylish kitchens with gas ranges and built-in microwaves. Some of the layouts have breakfast bars and a number have walk-in closets. Reside’s “accent wall” program enables the use of color to expand the space visually.
