Riding the Red Line: Fullerton

Travel north on the Red Line from 35th Street and you’ll end spend a lot of time underground. All of downtown’s Red Line stations are underground, and the train does not return to elevated tracks until after it passes the North / Clybourn station.

Fullerton is the first Red Line station on the North Side where riders can transfer to another line — specifically the Brown Line, which runs alongside the Red Line from the south end of Lincoln Park up to Wrigleyville but stops more frequently, and the Purple Line, which runs alongside the Red Line from Lincoln Park to Rogers Park during peak hours. (It too stops more frequently than the Red Line in Lincoln Park and Lake View.)
