What goes around comes around…once upon a time the Roosevelt Theatre was on “Block 37.” It was a venerable old-time movie house which used to feature stage shows and fancy premieres, then fell on hard times in the 60s and 70s, just like a lot of the downtown palaces. Only the Chicago and Oriental managed to re-invent themselves and survive. Which is more than you can say about the probable future of most contemporary multi-plexes.
