The first post in our series on the best apartment towers in River North spotlighted the buildings with the best views.
We’re aware that some of you are indifferent to proximity to grocery stores because you do most of your shopping online via Peapod, or rely on Whole Foods’ personal shopper / delivery service – or eat out or order in for almost all of your meals.
If convenient grocery shopping is a high priority for you, the “best” River North apartment tower will depend on your preferred shopping venue.
Everything else being equal, One Superior Place is the top pick for Whole Foods fans. Whole Foods is in the building, and One Superior Place residents can wheel a shopping cart from the store to their kitchen.
Jewel junkies will opt for Grand Plaza, which is on the retail level of the building, below the running track. Eataly is scheduled to open just east of Grand Plaza in early December.
Budget-conscious renters can stop at Walmart Express, just east of the CTA Brown Line stop on Chicago Ave, on their way home to Asbury Plaza. Whole Foods is a short block south for the occasional splurge.
