River Park North townhouse nearly complete

A townhome model is nearing completion at River Park North, a development of 56 luxury residences by Rezmar Development Group along the north branch of the Chicago River, in Irving Park.

“Construction of the Belmont model is scheduled for completion in early October as part of the work on the 28-unit first phase of River Park North,” said Alexandra Korompilas, director of sales and marketing for Rezmar.

The Belmont model is a three-bedroom, 2.5-bath, townhome with 2,652 square feet of living area base priced in the low $500s. The home has a large roof deck, a private balcony and a first-floor terrace. It also features a two-car garage, plus additional parking for two cars in the driveway.

“The Belmont is a 33-foot-wide townhome. That is an extra-wide floor plan, a very rare design,” Korompilas said.

The first 28 townhouses in the project are being built near Irving and California in four clusters, according to Korompilas, and the first deliveries are expected in spring of 2005.

The four-acre development features perimeter townhomes running from 2643 W. Irving Park to 2733 W. Irving Park. An “island” of residences also sits in the center of the project and 14 riverfront townhomes have backyards and balconies that overlook the Chicago River.

The homes have gas fireplaces with tile hearths and surrounds, hardwood floors in living areas, granite countertops, six-foot soaking tubs in master baths, laundry areas and central air conditioning.

One of the greatest amenities, however, as you may have guessed from the development’s name, is a perk that builders might not have highlighted 10 years ago, before the city began treating the river as an amenity to be showcased.

“The Chicago River is now widely recognized as the precious natural resource that it is and living along the river has taken on a whole new meaning,” Korompilas said. “A river front home is a very special place to live.”

A sales center for River Park North, www.RiverParkNorth.com, is open on site at 2711 W. Irving, just east of California.
