Sales and construction update: 340 on the Park

340 on the Park

Construction is wrapping up at 340 on the Park, Related Midwest‘s 62-story tower in the Lakeshore East development. Homeowners started moving in in late June, according to a news release from the developer, and the project is nearing a sellout, with about five of the 344 units remaining.

Sadhu Johnston, Chicago’s environmental commissioner, will tour the building July 18 in recognition of Related Midwest’s commitment to green building. The developer is seeking LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for 340 on the Park and Canyon Ranch Living Chicago, its 67-story high-rise scheduled to break ground in early 2008.

Related Midwest used a range of green building techniques at 340 on the park, recycling 82 percent (more than 2,800 tons) of construction waste, according to Don Biernacki, senior vice president for construction.
