Condos continue to sell at Mod, the 92-unit project located at 1222 – 1224 W Madison St.

Back in August, the development had sold 11 of the 56 residences that make up Mod’s first five-story mid-rise. Today, that number is up to 26 (or roughly 46 percent), says Mike Battista, vice president of sales at Jameson Realty Group.

Groundwork began at the West Loop site in October, and Battista expects units to be ready for delivery late this year or early next year. Marketing for Mod’s second five-story mid-rise will begin once sales for the first phase reach 60 to 70 percent, he says.

The development is a joint venture between Stillpoint Development, The Pickus Companies and Castlebar Enterprises. Sullivan, Goulette & Wilson designed the mid-rises.

Back in October, architecture critic and YoChicago friend Phil Berger praised Mod for its ambition and originality in a video tour with Joe Zekas.

“It doesn’t look anything like an attempt to do something historic,” Berger said. “It’s really unabashedly modern, and it is, to my mind, what this neighborhood needs: less red brick, and more things that look like they were built in the 21st century.”
