It’s not a stretch to say that 474 North Lake Shore Drive is in no danger of losing its lake views. The converted North Pier Apartments tower stands right up against Lake Shore Drive and Illinois Street in Streeterville, so unless there are plans to redirect LSD’s northbound offramp to Navy Pier and plant a new building just south of Lake Point Tower, I’d say that 474’s eastern views will remain unobstructed for the foreseeable future.
I’m sure 474’s sales staff wants buyers to keep that in mind, and not the fact that the building could lose most of its southern views of the river and the Loop should a certain super-tall skyscraper ever go up on the other side of the Ogden Slip.
From a purely numerical standpoint, the selection at 474 North Lake Shore Drive continues to dwindle, as only 36 of the building’s 502 homes are still available, according to marketing agent Kathleen Ullo. (That comes out to almost 93 percent sold, which means that a few units have gone under contract since Kate’s post last summer.) Nevertheless, those 36 units comprise a wide range of floor plans, from studios on the 17th floor to three-bedrooms on the 58th floor and higher.
The prices for those remaining units are a little different than the ones we’ve reported before: They start in the $290s for studios, which jibes with the info in our New Home Notebook, and go up to a little more than $1 million for three-bedroom, 2,000 square-foot penthouses.
Most of the homes can be ready for delivery within 60 days, Ullo says. Also available among those 36 units are the studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom models, which will come furnished.
Parking is offered at $35,000 per space for buyers of two- and three-bedroom condos. People who buy studios or one-bedroom homes can rent spaces.
