Domus on Fletcher – two brick-and-limestone buildings at 1453 W Fletcher St in Lake View – is a “historically accurate complete gut renovation,” according to Rubloff’s Web site. Judging by Rubloff’s pictures, “historically accurate” means its homes have things like wood-and-wrought-iron banisters on their open staircases and claw-foot tubs inside their bathrooms. On the other hand, the condos also have Viking stainless-steel appliances and surround-sound wiring, proving that when it comes to creature comforts, buyers probably don’t mind the occasional anachronism.
The last of the Domus’ six three-bedroom condominiums is selling in the $740s, says Rubloff agent Clare Armbruster. The 2,100 square-foot duplex has mahogany floors, stone kitchen countertops, oversized crown molding, and onyx and travertine in its three bathrooms.
According to the floor plan at right, the first level has a 17′ x 12′ living room, a 15′ x 13′ dining room, a 12-6″ x 10′ kitchen with adjoining breakfast area, a 15′ x 10′ bedroom, and a bathroom across the hall.
The lower level has a 19′ x 13′ family room, a 17′ x 9-6″ bedroom with direct access to a bathroom, a second 11′ x 9′ bedroom, a second bathroom, and a utility room.
A 10′ x 10′ deck opens out into the buildings’ common back yard from the first floor (as seen below). The unit also comes with a single-car garage with roof rights, Armbruster says.
