According to an Associated Press study of Environmental Protection Agency data, reported by the Chicago Tribune, 280 Illinois neighborhoods are among the nation’s most at-risk for long-term health problems from industrial air pollution.
The twenty worst census tracts in Illinois include — no surprises here — two in Cicero and two in Melrose Park.
The city of Chicago also boasts two of the top 20: tract 2523 (S. Cicero and Roosevelt Rd) and tract 5401 (I-94 and 130th St).
