Shark bites: a Palmolive delicacy for $810K

Palmolive Building, 159 E Walton St, ChicagoThis week’s CondoShark choice cut comes from straight from the big fish himself, Matt Garrison. Matt singled out this 1,529 square-foot two-bedroom on the 11th floor of the Palmolive Building, 159 E Walton St, as a noteworthy deal. The home was listed as high as $1.17 million at one point but has dropped gradually into the $810s, putting it about $300 below the price per square foot of the other nine Palmolive condos currently on the market.

The condo, listed by Stephen Bognar Jr of Koenig & Strey GMAC Real Estate, has a split floor plan with south, east, and west exposures. It features white oak floors, an “opulent” master bath, in-unit washer and dryer and other “top appliances,” and a living room fireplace, among other things. Monthly assessments of $1,100 cover utilities, common insurance, a concierge service, a door staff, and a private health club. A deeded space in the tower’s heated garage is available for $55,000.
