Due to their neighborhoods’ old industrial and warehousing natures, many of the discounted homes, short sales, and foreclosures in River North, the West Loop, and the South Loop are true-blue timber or concrete lofts. This morning I used Matt Garrison’s CondoShark.com records to pull together a list of lofts that have seen their prices cut by 10 percent or more.
- Unit #127 at 1727 S Indiana Ave (above): One-bedroom / 1.5-bath, 1,664 square feet; was $450,000, now $250,000 (44.4%)
- Unit #609 at 1224 W Van Buren St: Two-bedroom / two-bath, 1,430 square feet; was $400,000, now $275,000 (31.3%)
- Unit #209 at 550 N Kingsbury Ave: Two-bedroom / two-bath, 1,300 square feet; was $400,000, now $300,000 (25%)
- Unit #205 at 1243 S Wabash Ave: One-bedroom / one-bath; was $180,000, now $135,000 (25%)
- Unit #603 at 1500 W Monroe St: Two-bedroom / two-bath, 1,250 square feet; was $320,000, now $255,000 (20.3%)
- Unit #611 at 565 W Quincy St: Two-bedroom / two-bath, 1,280 square feet; was $449,900, now $373,373 (17%)
- Unit #5IJ at 312 N May St: Two-bedroom / two-bath, 3,000 square feet; was $575,000, now $480,000 (16.5%)
- Unit #506 at 15 S Throop St: One-bedroom / one-bath, 887 square feet; was $282,900, now $239,900 (15.2%)
- Unit #928 at 165 N Canal St: One-bedroom / one-bath, 1,200 square feet; was $325,000, now $280,000 (13.8%)
- Unit #202 at 843 W Adams St: One-bedroom / one-bath, 860 square-feet; was $280,000, now $245,000 (12.5%)
- Unit #926 at 165 N Canal St: Two-bedroom / 1.5-bath, 1,083 square feet; was $330,000, now $289,900 (12.2%)
- Unit #275 at 1040 W Adams St: Two-bedroom / two-bath, 1,155 square feet; was $319,900, now $284,900 (10.9%)
