While Chicagoland home builders have been experimenting with incentives to draw skittish buyers, Shodeen Residential’s Reston Ponds in Sycamore has kept it simple, maintaining the grand opening prices announced nearly a year ago.
Liz Mallin, a Sycamore resident and sales manager at the development, walked Joe Zekas through a furnished four-bedroom model in the above video when he visited last July. Phase IV grand opening prices then and now range from just under $200,000 to the $270s.
The 182 home sites in Phase IV are all that remain for sale in this large planned development that’s walking distance from Sycamore’s historic downtown, a few minutes from DeKalb and an easy commute from Elgin, St Charles, Geneva and many of Chicago’s western suburbs.
US News recently spotlighted Sycamore, surprisingly for such a family-friendly town, as one of 10 bargain retirement spots . That might explain why Liz Mallin has been seeing empty-nesters visiting the ranch model you can tour in this video.
