To get a good single-family home in Chicago, buyers will have to give up an arm and a leg… right?

Not if they’re shopping at Cornelia Court, says Gale Goldstick, sales manager at Cornelia Court for Coldwell Banker Residential. The Avondale townhouses start in the $490s and $500s, and buyers can choose from a variety of floor plans and upgrades to give their new homes a custom-built feel.

“For example, a buyer from Florida is putting some unique architectural details in the home’s interior, and he’s making some light-orientated changes as well as some structural alterations,” says Goldstick. “We have added some extra details within the unit, and that simply has not been done before.”

The developer is offering a buyer incentive of $10,000 that purchasers can use toward upgrade options or closing costs. The townhouses feature “fee simple” ownership with a homeowner’s association that provides grounds maintenance. Monthly assessments are projected from $100 to $150 and include common-area expenses, such as common insurance, landscaping, snow removal, water and scavenger service.
