SkyscraperCity.com worth a second look

Yo has already told you about the Skyscraper City Web site, which has some great material among the dross.
Check out the threads STR posts, with incredible computer modeling of existing and proposed buildings in the skyline. It’s Nirvana for graphics geeks.

Also useful is poster Chicago Tom’s series of development maps, in which he apparently has taken Google satellite images and overlaid a legend identifying all the new construction sites, as is the Chicago architecture height chart. You’ve got to wonder, though, why they’ve posted a list of what purports to be “Everything over 12 floors.” It seems accurate, but the whole thing appears to be re-packaged Emporis data.
