Skytech named development of the year

Skytech Lofts, a 150-unit luxury new-construction condominium development located in the West Loop neighborhood, has been named “Residential Development of the Year” by the West Central Association, an influential neighborhood business group.

The $42 million Skytech Lofts is being co-developed by West Madison Developers, LLC, and principles of New West Realty, which also serves as the exclusive marketing and sales agent for the development.

“From great architecture, to outstanding amenities, to an excellent location, Skytech Lofts offers the best of city living,” said James Engel, principal in Chicago-based West Madison Developers, LLC. “We’re very proud and pleased to have the development recognized by the West Central Association.”

The annual award ceremony by the business group is designed to publicly recognize contributions in the area, said Jerry Rose, president of the West Central Association.

“West Madison Developers, LLC has certainly made a significant contribution to the West Loop by developing Skytech Lofts,” Rose said. “They have not only improved the visual landscape of the area, but have added greatly to what the West Loop has to offer its current and future residents.”

The West Central Association, founded in 1918, is the longest standing community group in the West Loop area.

Under the leadership of Bob Wiggs, executive director, the focus of the WCA’s activities is community service in the area bounded by Wells on the east, California on the west and from 600 north to 1600 south, with special emphasis on one of the “hottest” areas of the city, the West Loop.

The 10-story Skytech Lofts features a mix of loft-like single-level, duplex and penthouse condominiums, as well as exclusive walk-in duplex units with private entrances. The homes have one to three bedrooms and one to three baths, priced from the $270s to the $590s.
