A few more notes from Tuesday’s South Lakeview Neighbors meeting:
- Members were hoping Scott Waguespack, the newly-elected alderman of the 32nd Ward, would stop by for an informal chat, but he couldn’t make it. Waguespack, who had criticized Ted Matlak for not listening to neighborhood groups, will speak at the next meeting September 18, according to Bill Haderlein, recording secretary for the group.
- The Lake View Garden Walk will be held July 8 from 12 to 5 p.m.
- And as noted in the group’s newsletter, Lawry’s Tavern, 1028 W Diversey Pkwy, closed on May 24. The family-owned business had been in that location since 1937. CBS2Chicago.com reported that the building the tavern occupies has been sold, though we’re not sure what’s taking its place.
