Apparently Related Midwest has taken over Winthrop Club in Evanston, and they’re planning to expand the amenities floor. Related Midwest is also going forward with 500 apartments on the land The Peshtigo was on, but plan to change the name. Good thing because the old one was too fishy.
The Ralph Johnson-designed tower was to be located on Peshtigo Court; nevertheless, “The Peshtigo” was one hell of an ill-advised name, especially in a city with its own history of fires.
I’ll have to check into this Winthrop Club news. From what I remember, the building’s amenity package wasn’t bad but lacked any sort of visual flair. I don’t know what Related could add to make it better, but I’ll try to find out.

I’m sure you would have put this in the article if you knew, but I’ll ask anyway, do they plan on using the design of the Peshtigo? I always really liked it, except for that large podium, too much concrete and not very pedestrian friendly. I would be nice though to see this one go up.
Dan:
Unfortunately, the only thing I know right now is what I quoted in the post.
