Selling a vacant, unfurnished home is challenging in today’s competitive marketplace, but many sellers attempt to do just that.
The owners of 2000 Parkview Dr in South Holland, for example, purchased a home in Naples, FL and shipped much of their furniture there, leaving bare and nearly bare rooms in their large 4 bedroom, 4 bath home. The home is listed for sale for $329,900.
The owners had heard about the value of home staging, did their research, and hired Margaret Gehr from Chicagoland Home Staging.
Gehr formulated a plan to make the home appealing to buyers. She used the remaining furniture in the home, and turned to Brook Furniture Rental‘s Amanda Eirich to supply additional furniture and brought in her own accessories.
Stacie McGlone, the listing agent from RE/MAX All Properties, is confident that having the home professionally staged gives buyers a better feel for its potential.
