Story on Chicago's development "mulch" spreads some manure

We just came across a recent New York Times story glowing about Chicago’s green approach to development and urban planning. Reporter Keith Schneider praises the city for everything from Mayor Daley’s early tree-hugging (he’s planted half a million trees so far) to developer incentives for building green to the landscaped medians that have popped up everywhere. Much of the praise is deserved, though it seems a major oversight in a story like this not to mention the failed Blue Bag recycling program the city clung to for years, inflating statistics to make it seem even marginally useful.
