The first posts in our series on the best Streeterville apartments spotlighted the buildings with the best views and most convenient access to grocery shopping, bars and restaurants, public transportation, parks and beaches and the expressway grid, and the shortest walk to the Loop.
Being close to retail shops isn’t likely to be the sole priority for people who live in Streeterville, but it might tip the scales all other factors being equal.
The buildings closest to Michigan Avenue have the best proximity to shopping options.
The Chatelaine, The Seneca and 211 East Delaware are about a block away from the 900 North Michigan shops, anchored by Bloomingdale’s.
They’re about the same distance from Nordstrom Rack, Water Tower Place and Neiman Marcus.
Oak Street‘s fabulous boulevard of boutiques is a few minutes’ stroll north of the three buildings.
Diesel, Urban Outfitters and other Rush Street shops are two blocks due west.
If you want to rent in a newer building, Optima Center also has great access to the Michigan Avenue retail scene. The Shops at North Bridge, 60 stores and 20 restaurants anchored by Nordstrom, are just a block west and a block north of the building.
