Earlier posts in our series on the best Streeterville apartments focused on location. We spotlighted the buildings with the best views and most convenient access to grocery shopping, bars and restaurants, retail shops, public transportation, parks and beaches and the expressway grid, and the shortest walk to the Loop.
In this and later posts we turn our attention to aspects of Streeterville’s buildings and apartments, starting with affordability – for some renters the one and only criterion that matters.
The lowest rents in Streeterville can typically be found in the older buildings north of Chicago Ave. These buildings have limited common-area amenities packages.
211 East Delaware is an all-studio building currently advertising apartments from $1,175 to $1,295.
The Chatelaine, 215 E Chestnut, currently has 1-bedrooms available from $1,495 and 2-bedroom, 2-baths from $2,250.
South of Chicago Ave in Streeterville the lowest rents in a full-amenity building are at McClurg Ct, 333 E Ontario. The building is currently advertising studios from $1,232, convertibles from $1,374, 1-bedrooms from $1,426 and 2-bedroom, 2-baths from $2,510.
The Streeterville market has become very competitive and “free rent” offers are common. Shop around and compare before making any decisions.
