The first posts in our series on the best Streeterville apartments spotlighted the buildings with the best views and most convenient access to grocery shopping.
If your definition of public transit includes only taxicabs, every building in Streeterville has great access to public transit.
If you want a 2-minute walk to CTA or Metra trains, you’re looking in the wrong place: Streeterville buildings can’t rival those in other neighborhoods for rapid access to rapid transit.
The Streeterville building closest to the CTA Red Line is Optima Center, 200 E Illinois St. It’s about an 8-minute walk from Optima Center to the Red Line stop on Grand Ave.
In unpleasant weather Optima Center residents can connect to the Red Line via the #65 bus along Grand Ave, a short block north of the building. The #65 bus also travels to the Blue Line stop on Grand Ave for the train to O’Hare Airport.
A variety of CTA bus routes travel north and south along Michigan Ave, a short block west of Optima Center.
