Sub-Division

As far as we kow, Sub-Division is not the name of a new neighborhood that’s south of Division Street. But hey, what does Yo know?

Well, we know that Chicago undergoes sporadic attempts to subdivide or re-divide neighborhoods into pockets (what Curbed calls “micronabes”) with names that have greater cachet.

We seem to be in the midst of one of those spurts: lately I’ve heard tell of West Andersonville, the Cathedral District, and east Lincoln Park, to mention a few.

Yo wants to know: what, where and why are the latest neighborhood names?
