Double-turreted Victorian homes are unusual sightings in a place like Oak Park, so Joe Zekas couldn’t pass up an opportunity to visit one.

Earlier this month, Joe stopped by 1032 Erie St in the Frank Lloyd Wright – Prairie School of Architecture Historic District, where Tony Iwersen of Prudential Rubloff was holding an open house. The five-bedroom / 3.5-bath home, priced in the $950s, is located within a five-minute walk of Metra’s Union Pacific / West station and the shops and restaurants of Oak Park’s commercial district.

Tony has both an eye and an ear for the details of the Victorian architecture that lends Oak Park so much of its distinctive character, and he’s very familiar with this home — he renovated it from a rooming house back to a single-family and sold it to its current owners and sellers almost two decades ago.
