Sunday open house pick: Ravenswood Manor price chop

Ravenswood Manor is one of Chicago’s great small-town neighborhoods. At its heart is the family-centric Ravenswood Manor Park, just a few steps from a Brown Line stop. It’s a neighborhood that attracts long-term residents, and where homes are infrequently available. When Yo checked earlier this year, only three single-families were on the market.

The home at 2860 W Giddings is one of those detail-rich Arts-and-Crafts bungalows that require a visit rather than just a video to appreciate. It’s set on an oversized on a low-traffic street that dead-ends into the Chicago River a few doors east.

Diane Freeman of Baird & Warner was my tour guide and video sponsor on a walk through this 3-bedroom, 3-bath, side-entry bungalow, which has a 2-car garage and elaborate gardens on its oversized corner lot.

The home had been priced at $850,000 until a few days ago, when it was reduced to $769,900. It’s open Sunday, March 20, from noon to 2 pm.
