Exhibit on Superior is a 35-story, 298-unit apartment tower at the corners of LaSalle, Superior and Wells streets. First occupancy occurred in early 2017.
The building has commercial space on the ground floor, 109 on-site garage spaces, and a small public park fronting Wells St.
Magellan Development and Mac Management are the developers and bKL Architecture is the architecture firm.
The apartments
Exhibit on Superior has a mix of studio, convertible, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, 1- and 2-bath and 3-bedroom, 3-bath apartments.

The apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows. Almost all have recessed balconies, a feature that’s unusual in studio and convertible apartments.
The apartments feature keyless entry, driftwood plank flooring throughout, in-unit washers and dryers, and individually controlled heating and air-conditioning. Kitchens have stainless steel appliances, tile backsplashes, quartz countertops, undermount sinks and contemporary dark wood cabinets.
Views. The building has enough separation from nearby high-rises to have relatively unbroken views in every direction, especially from higher floors.
Amenities, services, policies
Exhibit on Superior has a large landscaped deck with a lap pool, hot tub, cabanas, grilling stations and fire pits with lounge seating on the east side of the building.
The fitness center has cardio and strength-training equipment, sauna, a boxing simulator, spin bikes and private training studios with Fitness on Demand.
The tech lounge has charging stations, a kitchen, and private work and meeting rooms.
Resident lounge areas feature a fireplace, big screen TV, a game area with arcade games, reading and charging alcoves, a library nook and a private dining room and party suite. A guest suite is available for overnight visitors.
Exhibit on Superior is pet-friendly, subject to breed limits, with “fur free” floors. There’s a “doggie spa and lounge” and a gated outdoor dog park. The building has on-site management, maintenance and leasing staff, and 24/7 door staff.
The location
The building has a strong River North location close to public transit and daily conveniences.
Exhibit on Superior is a few blocks south of the Gold Coast and west of the Mag Mile and Streeterville.
The Chicago campus of Moody Bible Institute, which has over 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students, is a block north of Exhibit on Superior. The majority of the students live on campus.
Loyola University’s Quinlan School of Business is three blocks east of Exhibit on Superior. The former Montgomery Ward catalog warehouse, now home to the corporate headquarters of Groupon and Dyson, is a half mile west of the building.
Shopping. Residents of Exhibit on Superior has convenient access to grocery shopping.
There’s a locally-owned Potash Markets and a Whole Foods a few blocks to the east.
A number of convenience stores are nearby and Jewel, Plum Market and a new Target are not far away, as are a number of Walgreens and CVS pharmacies.
The River North Gallery District, shrunken by the economy in recent years, is just south of Exhibit on Superior and remains a scene worth visiting.
The 900 North Michigan shops, anchored by Bloomingdale’s, Michigan Avenue’s Magnificent Mile shops, and Water Tower Place and Oak Street boutiques are all within a 10-minute walk of Exhibit on Superior.
Dining, nightlife. Exhibit on Superior residents are a few minutes’ walk from scores of popular dining and nightlife options in River North and the Gold Coast. They can avoid the crowds and explore the more relaxed scene closer to home in the 700 blocks of Clark, LaSalle and Wells, steps from the building.
Café Iberico on LaSalle is known for its tapas, and for an outstanding selection of affordable wines.
Nearby Clark St venues include Zed 451, 25 Degrees, and Clark Street Ale House.
The 700 block of Wells St hosts Brehon Pub, Prosecco and the ever-popular Yolk. Farmhouse is just around the corner.
Parks, recreation. Residents of Exhibit on Superior have limited access to parks and recreational opportunities.
Washington Square Park, a tranquil oasis a few blocks northeast of Exhibit on Superior, is the only public park within a 10-minute walk of the building.
Transportation. Public transportation from the location is excellent.
Exhibit on Superior is a few minutes’ walk from the Brown / Purple Line stop at Franklin and Chicago and the Red Line stop at State and Chicago.
A variety of CTA bus routes run on LaSalle St and along Chicago Ave, Clark St and State St near the property.
The location has fairly quick access to I-90/94 and the city’s expressway grid via the Ontario St / Ohio St on / off ramps.
A Zipcar car-sharing location and a DIVVY bike station are just over a block away. Taxi service is available 24/7.
