Take a look at West Loop's Mod condos

We scored a few renderings for Mod, the West Loop project from Stillpoint Development, The Pickus Companies and Castlebar Enterprises, Inc., and thought we’d give you a look.

The project, designed by Sullivan, Goulette & Wilson, is comprised of two five-story buildings. The larger of the two, 56 units planned at 1222 W Madison, will have an exercise room and yoga space. The smaller 36-unit building is next door at 1224 W Madison.

“The idea was to do something progressive and modern,” says Daniel Boyd, a partner in Stillpoint Development. “We’re aiming at the design crowd.” In this vein, the company chose unusual materials: concrete floors that come standard (hardwood is optional), counters made from an especially heat- and bacteria-resistant quartz composite, kitchen cabinets made from teak, aluminum and glass.

The main living space fits a kitchen, living room furniture and a dining room table, Boyd says. The 10-foot-high ceilings are drywall, and units feature floor-to-ceiling windows.

The one- to two-bedroom condos, some with dens, range from 800 to 1,450 square feet. Prices start in the high $200s and go up to the high $300s.

The project is slated to break ground within the month, and deliveries are expected in August 2008, Boyd says. A sales center is also set to open in about a month at 1131 W Madison St. Jameson Realty Group is marketing the project.
