Take a techie's tour of Wright's Robie House

Fans of architect Frank Lloyd Wright can spend part of their Saturday taking a technology-oriented tour of one of Wright’s most famous houses. A Geek’s Guide to Wright’s Robie House, sponsored by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust, will focus on the science, technology, engineering and math that went into the revolutionary Prairie-style Robie House, located at 5757 S Woodlawn Ave. Cantilevers, steel beam construction and central vacuum systems may seem like old news now, but, in the 97-year-old Robie House, they’re just some of the signs that Wright was ahead of his time. The tour starts at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow and will set you back $16.
