The Habitat Company, perception vs reality

The Habitat Company has changed the face of Chicago. In its relatively brief 30-year history the company has developed over 17,000 residential units and currently manages over 23,000.

We recently visited with Mark Segal, President and CEO of The Habitat Company.

In this second part of our interview we touch on the gap between the perception and reality of the company’s achievements.

Although it’s currently perceived as a developer of luxury housing in prime locations the reality is that many of Habitat’s locations were speculative at the time they were built, and a number included a mix of affordable and market-rate units.
