The Irish are coming

If you’re one who likes the Irish traditional music, here are three great concerts over the next month at the Old Town School of Folk Music, 4544 N. Lincoln Ave. (773-728-6000) in Lincoln Square.

First, Danu performs at 4 and 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 12. They’re traditional, young and fresh — like George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life.

Next, hailing from the Dublin suburb of Manchester, England, Flook performs at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 24. They’re experimental, technical and explosive — like NASA’s first space shuttles.

Finally, hometown favorite Irish supergroup Bohola teams up with the up-and-comers known as Teada from across the pond at 7 and 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. These two groups are like peanut butter and jelly.

After all three shows, duck into The Grafton next door to the school for a post-show glass of something. The bands usually end up there, and chances are, they’ll keep on playing.
