Brick condo buildings will soon surround Kelly Kniewel’s Victorian home on the 3100-block of North Sheffield Avenue. The block is transforming at lightning speed, with three separate mid-rise developments underway.

But Kniewel, who bought her place two years ago, doesn’t mind in the least. In fact, she thinks the juxtaposition of housing styles will look great. “I like seeing a dichotomy in architecture,” she tells us, as buzzing jackhammers and noisy trucks go about their business all around her.
