The nearly news: Revisiting 30 West Oak

30 W Oak, ChicagoBuyers haven’t had many chances to pick up a home at 30 West Oak in the Gold Coast since construction wrapped in 2007. Three homes in Smithfield‘s Booth Hansen-designed tower have turned over in the past year — a two-bedroom that sold for $947,000, a three-bedroom that sold for $3.87 million, and a four-bedroom that sold for $2.9 million — and three more are under contract.

That’s actually a significant portion of the tower, given that original plans called for just 46 units, but the fact remains that 30 West Oak isn’t loaded with listings. Just one unit, a 2,057 square-foot two-bedroom / 2.5-bath on the fourth floor’s southeast corner, is on the market right now, with an asking price of $1.16 million, and parking thrown in for an additional $30,000. The home sold in 2007 for $1.11 million.

30 West Oak’s old website is still active, making it really easy to bring you the floor plan below.
