The original Iggy's gets a juicy makeover in River West

Even if you usually stumbled in after 2 a.m., you’ll probably never forget the original Iggy’s tucked away on the 600 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. Recently, Rodney Alex has breathed new life into the River West space with Juicy Wine Company, a bi-level wine and cheese retail space / lounge at 694 N Milwaukee Ave decked out with cork walls, white oak wine racks and cozy banquettes. Alex moved the entrance from the front to the side of the building and brightened up the space with floor-to-ceiling windows facing Milwaukee Avenue. It’s definitely one of the prettiest new additions to the block, despite ongoing street construction, and to the neighborhood, which sits on the formerly industrial blocks wedged between the river and the expressway.
