Our earlier posts spotlighted the South Loop apartment buildings with the best views, the most convenient grocery shopping, the best access to public transit, parks and beaches, the expressway grid, dining and nightlife, and the shortest walk to the Loop.
The South Loop has a well-deserved rap for being under-retailed: it’s a retail desert. If your ideal home has an abundance of shops within a short walk, you’ll want to live in a different neighborhood.
That said, after years of being wholly vacant, there’s a decent and growing retail presence in the nearly 400,000 square feet of space at the Shops at Roosevelt Collection. Residents of the Lofts at Roosevelt Collection need only head downstairs to reach the shops.
The Lofts at Roosevelt Collection also has quick access to the cluster of big box shops across the river on Roosevelt Road.
