Late yesterday afternoon I visited the roof of Kingsbury Plaza, 520 N Kingsbury St in River North.
The views in all directions from a height of 455 feet are attention-grabbing, and likely to be compelling from lower floors also, given the unbroken vistas afforded by the building’s riverfront site adjacent to the East Bank Club.
The mid-70s weather drew more than 75 people to the East Bank Club’s pool deck at the time of this shot, a surprising number for a mid-May weekday afternoon.
George Azzo, the building’s resident Chief Engineer, hosted my visit to the roof and gave me a tour of the mechanical rooms atop the building. Given the warm weather, residents of the building have to be pleased that they have a 4-pipe heating and cooling system.
The full-amenity 420-unit building, which is the sponsor of our River North rental guide, has a mix of studio, convertible, one- and two-bedroom, two-bath apartments renting from $1,633 a month. You can check rents and availability in near real-time on Kingsbury Plaza’s website.
