The view from a 49th floor master bath

A penthouse, strictly defined, is “the top floor of a tall building, typically luxuriously fitted, and offering fine views.”

Real estate agents have recently adopted the habit of calling the top floor unit of any building, no matter how low to the ground, no matter how pedestrian its finishes, a penthouse.

Earlier today I was in a 48th and 49th floor duplex at 100 E Huron with Tina Culver of Sergio & Banks. The unit, which fits the strict definition of a penthouse, will be on the market in a few days, at which time we’ll bring you a video tour. In the meantime, enjoy the view north from the master bath on a cloudy day as twilight approached.
