Last month, Stonegate Development launched a construction blog for Silver Tower, a new high-rise that’s currently under construction at 303 W Ohio St in River North. The blog is updated every couple of weeks with photos and short summaries of recent developments.
The most recent entry to the construction blog features the above photo of what looks like a bottomless elevator shaft, and it’s accompanied by an ominous, even threatening forecast: “Soon, new buyer, you will be spending a portion of every day in here.” Thanks, but I’ll be taking the stairs.
I happened to stop by the Silver Tower construction site yesterday afternoon, and it looks like the 40-story tower is nearly topped off. According to the construction blog, the workers poured the 32nd floor at the beginning of the month. As Joe reported last month, more than 75 percent of Silver Tower’s 225 condos have been sold so far, and the remaining one- to three-bedroom homes are priced from the $290s to the $790s.
