The views from The Sutherland in Hyde Park / Kenwood

I find rooftops irresistible, especially when they offer a clear view of the near and far surroundings.

The recently-renovated Sutherland apartment building, 4659 S Drexel Blvd in Hyde Park / Kenwood, is only six stories in height but it’s surrounded by low-rise buildings. The upper floors of the building have sweeping vistas from nearly every apartment.

The west view along 47th Street provides a good look at the site where a new Walmart Neighborhood Market is under construction at 47th and Cottage Grove.

From the west side of the building residents have a clear view along Drexel Blvd toward the new University of Chicago Center for Care and Discovery.
