The views from Wolf Point West apartments

Wolf Point West, the new apartment tower in River North, has topped out at 48 stories and the glass façade is nearing completion.

I rode the construction elevator to the 42nd floor yesterday for a look at the dramatic views east, south and north along the Chicago River.

All of the building’s residents will be able to enjoy the sweeping views in every direction from the amenities on the 46th floor. First occupancy is slated for late this year.

The view from a fourth-floor bedroom window, pictured above, affords a more intimate connection with the river and a close-up view of the seasonal parade of kayakers and tourist and pleasure boats, the CTA trains crossing the river at Lake Street, and the spectacular show of the bridges opening to afford boats passage to and from the Lake Michigan harbors.

Many thanks to Sherri Cuda of Magellan and Cori Linnell of Hines for hosting the tour.
